What Is a Pivot Door and How Does It Work?
A pivot door carries the weight of the leaf on a central axis at the top and bottom rather than on side hinges. That construction allows leaf sizes and weights that are impossible with hinges, and the leaf opens through anything from 90 to 180 degrees.
The load passes through floor-recessed or top-mounted pivot spindles, which is why leaves weighing 200–400 kg work without trouble. The leaf can be aluminium, steel, wood-clad, glass or a composite panel; aluminium profiles have a 2–3 mm wall thickness, steel 1.5–2 mm.
Freedom in Sizing
Standard production covers single leaves up to 150 cm wide and 400 cm high. As the size grows, the pivot spindle capacity and the floor connection detail are recalculated.

Insulation and Security
With a thermal break profile the U-value drops to 0.9–1.4 W/m²K and sound insulation sits between 35 and 42 dB. Security class is RC2, or RC3 on steel models.
Hydraulic Damper and Automation
With a hydraulic damper the door slows and closes by itself instead of slamming. A motor option makes it fully automatic.
Classified Performance Values
The targets are Class 4 for air permeability, Class 9A for watertightness and Class C5 for wind resistance. These apply to the standard configuration and may change with the project.
